Do Thanksgiving Differently This Year

We really love Thanksgiving with the family. It’s one of the few times of the year we get to spend time with friends and relatives from all over and get caught up. This is a holiday built around a meal, so time in the kitchen is a usual extension. And while many of us enjoy the cooking, you may want to do Thanksgiving differently this year. Big Bear has several great restaurants that will be open on Thanksgiving day, and it’s a great opportunity to spend more time with everyone, rather than have your handful of cooks disappear for the hours leading up to the feast.

As we welcome the month of November, our thoughts necessarily turn to the holidays. We’ve been not so subtly reminded of their pending arrival as we go about our usual shopping with their yearly push of holiday merchandise. But now really is the best time to plan your holiday getaway.

Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away, and it’s one of our busiest times. Many families make a yearly trek to one of our Big Bear vacation rentals to assemble their far flung family members in the comfort and luxury we offer. The metal fest continues the following night on the 3rd with LA heavy metal standards by Dokken. Head over to The Cave on 9th for the “Big Bear Mini-Fest.” fundraiser for Big Bear High School Art Club in coordination with Bear Valley Go For the Arts! Music will be provided by Low Lake Mountain Fire, Quint & Loneship. Lorrie Morgan is launching her fist solo album in 5 years and will be appearing on the 16th. “Led Zepagain” Tribute to Led Zeppelin appears on the 17th. The
“Cash’d Out” Johnny Cash Tribute lands on the 24th. Los Lonely Boys are an American Chicano rock power trio from San Angelo, Texas, and they’ll be wrapping up November’s lineup on the 30th.

November Events in Big Bear

You’re probably not surprised that we think anytime is a great time to visit Big Bear, but November is an especially great time to plan your Big Bear getaway. Follow along with us and we’ll give you a handful of reasons.

Suspense fans will want to plan for The Big Bear Theater Project’s presentation of “Wait Until Dark.” This thriller will take to the Performing Arts Stage from November 15th through 18th. Inspecting Santa The Friday after Thanksgiving is overflowing with events as well. This year’s boutique will feature over 40 arts and crafts vendors, fun events for kids, and lots of great food and drinks.
