Theater fans will find a couple of great options for your November visit. The Big Bear High School Performing Arts Department is presenting the classic, “Little Women” at the Performing Arts Center on November 1st thru 3rd at 7:00 pm and a November 4th matinee at 2:00 pm. Suspense fans will want to plan for The Big Bear Theater Project’s presentation of “Wait Until Dark.” This thriller will take to the Performing Arts Stage from November 15th through 18th. What better way to start your Thanksgiving morning than with Big Bear’s annual Turkey Trot? This fun run raises money for the local food bank, and is a great way to work up an appetite for your feast later in the day. The Friday after Thanksgiving is overflowing with events as well. Santa and Mrs. Claus make their annual appearance in the Village with the tree lighting ceremony as part of the festivities. It’s also a great day to get a jump on your Christmas shopping with the 34th Annual Mountain Christmas Boutique at the Big Bear Convention Center. This year’s boutique will feature over 40 arts and crafts vendors, fun events for kids, and lots of great food and drinks.

While Big Bear’s population tends to swell during the winter, it’s also a favorite cold-weather destination for bald eagles. This creates a unique opportunity for volunteers to join with the Forest Service to conduct the annual Bald Eagle count. Volunteers are needed to help count the majestic birds who arrive in Big Bear each year. The Forest Service will provide a brief orientation and point you to a vantage point to watch for these amazing birds. Get more details at this link: 
Many of us woke up this morning with a few extra relatives in town with some of them under our roofs. We also greeted the day with the faint aroma of yesterday’s turkey feast still lingering around the kitchen. And whether or not you’re one of those who runs out to find the great sales this weekend, one thing is for certain: Thanksgiving is behind us, and we’re on that fast track to Christmas and Hanukkah. It’s a fun time, but it’s also a time when many families feel extra stress over the commitments and expectations that usually come with the season. This year you can leave the stress behind by and plan the perfect Christmas in Big Bear.
Christmas is our favorite time of year. It’s also one of our busiest. Snow is falling in the mountain resorts, so we’re taking continual calls from excited guests planning the perfect ski vacation. We’re also busy helping people plan big family getaways for Christmas and New Years. In the midst of all of this, we’re continually reminded of the great privilege we have to work with our guests creating lifelong memories with those they love.
The holiday season is upon us. We always love this time of year. We get busier with shopping and making plans, but it has an entirely different flavor from those same pursuits the rest of the year. During the holidays we’re shopping for special gifts for people we love, and we’re making plans to enjoy time with family and friends. The rest of the year shopping and making plans can be mostly mundane, but during the holidays we enjoy these things much more.
Your time spent with family in your Big Bear Five Star Vacation rental cabin will be a delight for everyone in your group. Our cabins are specifically chosen for their attention to comfort and luxury. The kitchens each have the cooking tools needed so the chefs in your family can have some real fun preparing gourmet meals for your group. You can plan day trips to the Village for some great shopping and fine outside dining as well. We’ll soon have snow on the ground, so you can add skiing, sledding and snow play to your activities as well. The hardest part of your time with us will be when you have to eventually leave to return home. But don’t despair. You can book your next getaway with us as soon as you get back home.
But to tell you a bit more about this stunner: It’s a newer log home and had 4 bedrooms with 2.5 baths. The view out the front deck stretches out to the lake, and from the back it’s beautiful forest and mountain sights. We kept running from one side of the house to the other to try and decide which view we liked best. We finally collapsed in one of the top grain leather chairs and decided we liked both views the same. They’re just wonderful. But as we felt the warmth of the fine leather chair envelope us, we started to forget the view and drink in the luxury of the cabin and its furnishings.
The leather furniture is just amazing. It’s some of the finest furniture we’ve seen, and provides a level of comfort you’d expect from furnishings of this caliber. You sit down, and you don’t want to get up. Every time something pops into your head that requires you to get up, it will tend to slip away as the chair just cradles you against the warmth of the leather. Start a fire in the fireplace, and you may refuse to move for hours. But isn’t that why you rented from us?
