More July Fun in Big Bear

In last week’s blog we detailed all the great fun you can have during your July 4th stay in Big Bear, and this week we’re going to show you have you can have even more July fun in Big Bear. It’s one of the most popular events of the year, and if we still have any cabins available, you’ll be glad you came for it. In this week’s blog we’re going to look at some of the other fun things you can do during your July visit.

Find some unique creations from local artists at Art on the Corner in the Village from July 4th through 7th on the corner of Village Drive and Pine Knot Avenue. Fine Art, craftsmanship, and a variety of different mediums will be found. Enjoy a glass of beer or wine, and enjoy the music as you browse the artwork. Proceeds to benefit the Bear Valley Guild for the Arts and the Open Sky Music Foundation.

If you’re staying with us on a Tuesday, and you’d like to try your hand at some culinary creations using locally grown ingredients, you’re going to want to head over to the Big Bear Valley Farmer’s Market at the Big Bear Convention Center. The Market is open 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every Tuesday morning, and it’s a great way to start your day with some fresh fruits and other local items.

Our favorite is The Jefferson Starship appearing on the evening of July 19th. This iconic band features some of the original members and will recreate the sound known to at least a couple of generations. You’re in for a great laugh with Pauly Shore of “Totally Pauly” fame will be appearing on July 20th, and the month closes out on July 27th with the inimitable style of Ted Nugent as he brings his unique brand of rock and roll that will just about blow the roof off.

April Events in Big Bear

April is a big month in Big Bear, and there’s a lot to keep you busy when you’re not relaxing in the luxury of your Five Star Vacation Rental. Here are some of the fun things you can look forward to during your April stay in Big Bear.

Moonshine Bandits will be appearing on April 5th with their unique brand of crossover genre-bending musical mayhem that appeals to the eclectic, color-outside-the-lines crowd. And you may want to stick around for the following night with Los Lobos will take the stage with their hard driving brand of music. April 12th will see Parmalee with their American Country style take the stage. And April 13  one of the best Journey cover bands ever, DSB will be performing. April 20th you’ll be treated to The Untouchables, who describe themselves as an early West Coast ska band which mixed R&B covers with reggae rhythms. O-Town with Ryan Cabrera will arrive April 27th. This is the first and biggest trout tournament of the year. The fun starts on Friday the 19th with signups and the Youth Fishing Club will be on hand to teach some of the variety of fishing techniques that may lead to winning this event. There will be weigh ins both Saturday and Sunday and prizes awarded for the biggest fish caught by qualifying youth and adults. Get more details online at https://bigbearfishingassociation.org/

November Night Life In Big Bear

As the holidays approach, many of us look forward to catching up with family and friends visiting from out of town. It can be a perfect time to book your Big Bear getaway, so you can add a more relaxing atmosphere to your time together. This has emerged as Big Bear’s premiere live music venue, and they’ve got a full lineup for November. They’re kicking things off on November 2nd with the Monsters of Metal Night. You’ll enjoy the sounds of Maiden USA, Mr Crowley, Big City Nights and Dirty Deeds. The metal fest continues the following night on the 3rd with LA heavy metal standards by Dokken. Head over to The Cave on 9th for the “Big Bear Mini-Fest.” fundraiser for Big Bear High School Art Club in coordination with Bear Valley Go For the Arts! Music will be provided by Low Lake Mountain Fire, Quint & Loneship. Lorrie Morgan is launching her fist solo album in 5 years and will be appearing on the 16th. “Led Zepagain” Tribute to Led Zeppelin appears on the 17th. The
“Cash’d Out” Johnny Cash Tribute lands on the 24th. Los Lonely Boys are an American Chicano rock power trio from San Angelo, Texas, and they’ll be wrapping up November’s lineup on the 30th.

Plan Your June Big Bear Getaway

We’re just a couple weeks away from June, and it’s a great time to plan a Big Bear getaway. In our blog a couple weeks ago we noted some great events upcoming in June for cyclists and anglers. This week we’re going to take a look at some of the other great events you can enjoy during your June getaway in a Five Star Vacation Rental.

Fans of live music will find plenty to keep them happy during June. Wyatt’s at the Big Bear Convention Center hosts line dancing with live music every Friday and Saturday night all month long. You’ll have a great time kicking up your heels at this popular venue.

The Cave is featuring some of the hottest indie and tribute bands all month long. The fun starts on June 1st with Buck Cherry the Anaheim rock band. Eagles tribute band, “Desperado” appears the following night. June 9th will feature a performance by “Uptown Funk,” the Bruno Mars tribute band. Al Jardine of the Beach Boys will be appearing on June 15th. Puddle Of Mudd is an American post-grunge band from Kansas City, Missouri, and they’ll be taking the stage at The Cave on June 16th. Mark the date for June 23rd when “Aeromyth” the Aerosmith Tribute band will land at The Cave. On June 30th “Queen Nation” will rock the house with 90 minutes of non stop Queen hits. Whatever your flavor, The Cave has music to move you in June.
