June is a great month in Big Bear. The weather is just amazing and there are so many things you can do. The Bear Mountain golf course is open, so you can load up your clubs and marvel at just how far you can drive a ball through the mountain air atop Big Bear. The 9 hole course is perfect for an early getaway. Grab a morning tee time, and you can be back with the family in time for lunch later. After lunch, there’s still time to grab a boat and go out on the lake fishing or go for a leisurely hike on one of the great hiking trails in Big Bear. And that’s just day one. There’s still great fun to be had at the Big Bear Discovery Center and more activities on the lake to keep the entire family smiling and enjoying the time away.

Big Bear’s annual summer wine walk takes place on Saturday, June 6 this year. This is one of our favorites. Starting at about 3:00 in the afternoon, local merchants in the Village will offer guests a wide variety of wines from around the world. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about fine wines while you enjoy visiting the many participating shops in the Village. You’ll want to purchase tickets early, and this event sells out every year. Buy them online at this link.
Weekend nature talks take place starting from the Big Bear Discovery Center. These are a great way to learn more about the colorful history and wildlife of the Big Bear area. Visit the Discovery Center’s website at this link.
