Make Your Big Bear To-Do List With Five Star Vacation Rentals

Life is filled with to-do lists.  Most of them are pretty mundane.  Forgive us, but we’ve taken a peek at yours, and we’re about as bored as you are by what we see there:  Pick up the dry cleaning.  Pay the water bill.  Call the accountant.

Yawn

Well, don’t despair.  One of our specialties here at Five Star Vacation Rentals is adding some spice to the otherwise ordinary daily lives most of us live.  Take another look at that list, and you’ll notice we’ve added a few items that you should definitely move to the top:

1. Learn to Ski or Snowboard

You hate to admit it, but you’ve been in Southern California for how long, and never learned to ski?  Well, many of us here were late bloomers as well.  Like you, we spent years nodding quietly as our friends recounted their adventures on the slopes.  Our laughter always seemed a bit hollow, and we never wanted to admit that we never really learned to ski.  If you’re a novice and want to get serious about improving your style, ski lessons are a great way to quickly improve your downhill experience.  Both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit offer lessons.  And remember, ski lessons are not just for first-timers. Maybe you’ve been skiing a while, and are ready to learn snowboarding.  They’ve got lessons for that as well.  Make it a family affair by including the kids as well.  They’ll always remember the great fun they had learning to ski with you.   Don’t delay on this one, as we’re quickly approaching the end of the ski season.

2. Take a Walk In the Woods

Each weekend the Big Bear Discovery Center offers nature walks starting at the center (map).  These are great fun for the entire family.  These walks are full of great information about Big Bear’s wildlife and natural beauty.  The tour guides also provide lots of little-known info about the history of Big Bear.  Your family will come away with a better understanding, and a new way to enjoy Big Bear.  Call the Discovery Center for more details: (909) 382-2790

3. Count Some Bald Eagles

The Forest Service conducts annual counts of our national symbol, and they need lots of volunteers to help find them.  This is a great opportunity to see these grand birds and help in their preservation.  Volunteers don’t need to sign up in advance.  Just dress warmly, and arrive at the Big Bear Discovery Center by 8am on Saturday, March 8th.  Be sure to bring binoculars and a watch.  You’ll be given a brief orientation and assigned a vantage point to record sightings of our beloved national symbol.  It’s a really amazing sight as these majestic birds take flight.  And we guarantee you’ll attract a crowd at work the following week when you’re asked, “So, what did you do last weekend?”  More details at this link.

4.  Immerse Yourself in Luxury and Get Pampered While Working on Your To-Do List

The above items will certainly give your family great enjoyment and enrich your lives.  And we can’t think of any better way to augment these experiences than returning each evening to one of our luxury Big Bear vacation rental cabins. We’re experts at helping folks wind down and enjoy a level of relaxation that just can’t be found in their daily lives.  We’ve collected some of Big Bear’s most luxurious cabins and furnished them with your comfort and relaxation in mind.  You know that huge sigh you let out when you finally get to relax after a hard day at work or when you complete a difficult project?  Well, you’ll be breathing that sign continually in your amazing cabin.
