For starters, it offers the best of both worlds in terms of privacy and convenience. For privacy, it backs up to the national forest. It has soaring windows in the great room that look out over the trees in the national forest. You’ll have the sense of privacy and seclusion that usually only comes with a long bumpy ride into a wilderness setting and a primitive camp. But this is far from the wilderness. The cabin boasts 5 bedrooms with 5 baths spread out over 5500 square feet of custom log construction and luxurious appointments. The great room spans the full 25 foot height of the cabin and has rich leather furniture surrounding the fireplace for you to relax. There are two huge flat screen TV’s, so this is going to be a popular destination to watch sports or host a movie night during your stay. Take full advantage of the wilderness experience by trekking out on one of the hiking trails that run nearby through the forest.

June is a great month in Big Bear. The weather is just amazing and there are so many things you can do. The Bear Mountain golf course is open, so you can load up your clubs and marvel at just how far you can drive a ball through the mountain air atop Big Bear. The 9 hole course is perfect for an early getaway. Grab a morning tee time, and you can be back with the family in time for lunch later. After lunch, there’s still time to grab a boat and go out on the lake fishing or go for a leisurely hike on one of the great hiking trails in Big Bear. And that’s just day one. Big Bear’s annual summer wine walk takes place on Saturday, June 6 this year. This is one of our favorites. Starting at about 3:00 in the afternoon, local merchants in the Village will offer guests a wide variety of wines from around the world. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about fine wines while you enjoy visiting the many participating shops in the Village. March 19th was a great day in the lives of avid anglers. Big Bear Lake was stocked with 10,000 pounds of baby trout that day.
