Grab Your Flashlight. It’s About Time To Dig Out Your Skis

We can’t believe it’s almost time for snow in Big Bear again.  The weatherman is saying we may get our first snowfall on Halloween, and we’re getting excited.

We recall the sadness we felt when we finally put our skis away earlier this year.  Over the ensuing months we piled boxes of stuff in front of them, and their brilliant luster slowly dimmed under the mounting layers of dust.  Once in a while the sunlight through the window would hit just right and the reflection off our beloved skis would shine in our eyes triggering a hundred memories of downhill runs.  But the memories were just hollow and taunted us as the hills around Big Bear sprouted grass instead of snow.

But now there’s that familiar nip in the air some evenings.  We recognize it, and it causes our heart to leap with anticipation.  Soon these cool evenings will take flight in Big Bear and become consistently cold evenings.  And cold evenings will produce more snow.  We’re not sure the snowfall that may arrive tonight will be enough to get started skiing, but it’s a start.  We all hate waiting, but there are things you can start doing now to get ready.

First, you must be sure you have the best accommodations possible for your ski getaway.  This is crucial.  Those first few days back on the slopes usually result in some sore muscles later that day.  With your Five Star Vacation Rental unit you can be assured that regardless of how the slopes may knock you around, you’ll end the day immersed in the absolute luxury of one of our cabins or estates.  Plan your stay for later in the season if you want a better likelihood of snow.

Once you’ve secured your luxury vacation cabin from Five Star Vacation Rentals, you’ll need to just dust off and pack up your ski gear.  Of course, you will have a struggle finding a real reason to leave the cozy comfort of your cabin for the colder climes on the slopes.  But some of us are true ski fans and no amount of cold weather will keep us off the slopes.  Either way, some of those in your party may hang back and enjoy the luxury while you tackle the slopes.  Not to worry though, a comfy sofa and crackling fireplace is ready for your return.
