March Fun in Big Bear

If you’re looking for some last minute fun in Big Bear, check out our blog from last week. February is chock full of great things. This week, we’re going to cover some of the events you’ll want to plan for with your March visit.

Spring Break is the biggest event every March. We often get booked up weeks in advance, so now is the perfect time for your reserve your getaway. We can’t promise there will still be snow, but we can promise there will always be lots of fun things to do while you’re staying in your luxury Five Star Vacation Rental in Big Bear.

Region capture 56Want to freeze your patootie and make some money for a great cause too? Join in for the 6th annual Big Bear Polar Bear Plunge for the Special Olympics.  The Cave is sponsoring a pre-registration party on Saturday night March 3rd from 6 – 10pm with free admission for everyone registered for the plunge. You’ll assemble at 10am, Saturday, March 4 at Pine Knot harbor for the actual plunge itself.  For more information, to register or make a donation, visit the Plunge website at this link.  As they like to say, you’ll be “Freezin for a reason!”

If you’re not in the mood for a freezing dip, you can join another great cause on March 4th with the United States Adaptive Recreation Center’s annual skiathon to support the purchase of adaptive ski equipment and train volunteers and staff to offer adaptive ski lessons. Participants will get a full-day Bear Mountain ticket with lift-line cutting privileges and a host of other goodies. Skiers and snowboarders will enjoy a great day on the slopes and support a worthy cause in the process.  For more details and to register online, visit their website: http://usarc.org/skiathon

Region capture 55On March 5th you can watch or participate in USASA’s Half Pipe #1 and #2 at Bear Mountain.  Half Pipe is one of the most exhilarating sports we see on the mountain, and this is a great opportunity to see some of the best or enter to become one of them. Contact Bear Mountain for more details and tickets: http://www.bigbearmountainresort.com/winter

We encourage all the skiers to be sure to book their getaway quickly. The snow always seems to disappear each year with a good number of you  having missed the chance to indulge. Our weekday vacancies often give you good selection and smaller crowds on the slopes, so if you can get away during the week, that’s a great option.  Check out all our Big Bear vacation rentals at this link, and if you’re in the mood for a getaway elsewhere check out our vacation rentals in  Nuevo VallartaMammoth MountainPark CitySouthern California Beaches, and La Quinta. No matter what city you are visiting, staying in a Five Star Vacation Rental property allows you to experience the absolute best in luxury accommodations.
